Sittwe District (Burmese: စစ်တွေခရိုင်) is a district of Rakhine State, western Myanmar. Its administrative center is Sittwe.

Administrative divisions

Sittwe District consists of the following townships:[1]

  • Pauktaw Township
  • Ponnagyun Township
  • Rathedaung Township
  • Sittwe Township

Sittwe District also formerly contained the following townships, which were split off to become Mrauk-U District:[citation needed]

Demographics

According to the 2014 census, the district had a population of 537,300 people, of whom 250,712 were men and 286,588 were women.[1]
